C H I R O P R A C T O R
I have extensive experience working with people who have a variety of musculoskeletal related concerns. I'm a strong advocate for patient-centered, evidence-informed practice, which helps me deliver the highest quality care. I use motion palpation, movement screening, and other orthopedic and diagnostic tests to perform a comprehensive assessment. Following this assessment, I use a multimodal treatment approach incorporating techniques such as chiropractic adjustments, soft-tissue therapy, gentle joint mobilizations, acupuncture, pain, and healing modalities (IFC, TENS, LASER, shockwave), ergonomic advice, orthotics, taping and bracing, and personalized exercise prescription.

NECK PAIN, BACK PAIN, AND SPINAL HEALTH
Chiropractors treat a wide variety of injuries and pains, most commonly treating lower back pain, neck tightness, and headaches to name a few. Chiropractic care is the treatment of structural problems in the human spine and limbs, generally involving the joints, muscles, and nerves. Whether it is nagging back pain from your desk job or a sudden injury to your neck or back, chiropractors can diagnose and treat. In order to correct these issues, chiropractors perform spinal and joint adjustments. The objective is to increase range of motion, reduce nerve irritability, improve function, and eliminate your pain!

WHAT TO EXPECT - BIOMECHANICAL ASSESSMENT AND DIAGNOSIS
Chiropractors take a thorough health history, examine and document all of your ranges of motion, muscle tone, strength, neurological and vascular tests. The examination is non-invasive and performed in a gentle and logical fashion from the top of the neck to the ankles and feet. If your problem warrants more testing, you may be sent for x-rays (most are covered by OHIP) and are conducted across the street from our clinic. If you require more testing we will often call your physician and work collaboratively to decide on the next step for your healthcare. Ie. CT Scan, Ultrasound, or MRI.

WHAT ARE SPINAL ADJUSTMENTS?
Chiropractic care was institutionalized in 1895 and is the physical medicine or the treatment of mechanical pain by using the hands. Chiropractic adjustments are the specific and gentle release of joint and or nerve pressure that could be responsible for pain, inflammation, muscle spasm, etc. Often with an adjustment, there is an associated sound, this is the release of nitrogen and carbon dioxide gas from the joint (the space between two bones) and not actually bones cracking.
